COVID policy from September 2021

Although cases and hospitalisation rates are falling the COVID virus is likely to be with us for some time. Below we outline the measures we will implement on our return to the rehearsal hall in September. They will also be available on the website. Please take the time to read them before you attend the first session.

  1. Sessions using Zoom will be discontinued.
  2. You must not attend rehearsals if you feel at all unwell.
  3. Hand anti-bacterial gel will be available as you enter the hall.
  4. The seats will be set out before you arrive and put back after you leave.
  5. Rehearsals will be held in the hall due to the better ventilation. The doors will be open, so it’s best to bring a warm jacket.
  6. You are welcome to wear a visor (or mask) if preferred, but it will not be compulsory.
  7. To reduce mingling as you enter the hall, please pay your membership (£120) by BACS in advance (sortcode 60-08-04, account no. 56529953, account name Ember Choral Society, your name in the Reference).
  8. Please have the exact money (cash or cheques) ready for music hire. It’s £3 for the Messiah and £3 for the Whitacre. If you want to pay by BACS, please make a separate payment. For the Reference include your name and which piece(s) you wish to hire.
  9. The short coffee break will be re-instated but we will not be serving hot drinks. Please bring your own beverages.
  10. In the event a member tests positive for COVID following a rehearsal they should inform Linda or Valerie immediately and, with the member’s consent, we will advise the choir to get a lateral flow test done at the earliest opportunity, and then again on the morning of the next Wednesday they plan to attend rehearsals.
