- Wednesday, 23rd June 2021
Due to continuing COVID restrictions we did not hold a formal concert in June 2021 (see below) but instead held an open rehearsal at 7:30pm at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church on Hampton Court Way, Thames Ditton.
Audience members had to be limited. To comply with the then guidance for amateur choir performances, we made a nominal charge for tickets, but anyone who enjoyed the evening was invited to additionally contribute to a retiring collection with proceeds going to the Musicians Benevolent Fund.
The abridged programme consisted of Fauré “Requiem” and Poulenc “Gloria”. We welcomed soloists Rebecca Hardwick (soprano) and Laurence White (baritone). Laurence also sang three songs between the performance of the main works.
The evening was a welcome opportunity to sing live after many Zoom rehearsals! The write-up of the evening can also be viewed here.
- Sat 28 March 2020
We were due back to sing at St Andrew’s Church, Surbiton.
We were looking forward to performing Bach’s “St Matthew Passion” in English and featuring period instruments.
Sadly, in the light of concerns about coronavirus and based on government guidelines, this concert had to be cancelled. We also had to cancel further concerts due to be held in June 2021, also at St Andrew’s Church, Surbiton and December 2021 at Kingston parish church. Please see our Chairman’s statement for further information.
